Hold only at the base where the wax has not melted. Do not touch the part of the can were the flame is burning as it can be hot. *Be very careful moving your can while lit. It also helps to avoid that black stain on the inside of the can. This is especially important to avoid ruining cans with plastic or sticker labels as you do not want the flames melting these things. *Don't forget to trim your wick tips to about 1/4" so they don't flop over.
